We get asked a lot of questions here AVIE! about one of our most popular skin rejuvenation treatments: platelet-rich fibrin matrix (PRFM), a more concentrated and purer form of platelet-rich plasma (PRP). As you may already know, PRFM is a super concentrated portion of your very own blood, which we prepare here in our office within a matter of minutes using a special machine called a centrifuge.
To rejuvenate your skin, we offer two PRFM treatments: PRP Facial and PRP Facelift. Here’s a look at the similarities and differences between these two PRP treatments, and how they may work for you.
PRP Facial
How’s your skin texture? If you have acne scars, stretch marks, roughness, mild laxity or other textural concerns, a PRP Facial may be ideal for you. The PRP Facial is a combination of two skin revitalizers: microneedling and PRP! During your PRP Facial, we will first draw a small portion of your blood. While your PRP is being isolated in our machine, we will apply a topical numbing cream to your treatment areas. Once your PRFM is ready, we will microneedle your face while applying PRFM to your skin. The tiny holes created by microneedling help enhance your skin’s absorption of PRFM, and they also help stimulate your skin’s natural healing response so you can enjoy a synergistic boost of skin renewal. The PRP Facial is ideal for improving textural concerns because this treatment resurfaces your skin and stimulates intense renewal from within. For your best results, we recommend a series of treatments.
PRP Facelift
Like a PRP Facial, a PRP Facelift uses potent PRFM to renew your skin. The difference is in the application. Instead of applying PRFM topically to your skin in tandem with a microneedling treatment, our PRP Facelift injects PRFM directly into your target areas. A PRP Facelift can be administered in conjunction with injectables for a boost of benefits. PRP Facelift helps enhance volume, smooth lines and wrinkles, and reveal a younger-looking you. But PRFM takes your fillers to the next level by stimulating cellular renewal within your skin, so you’re getting beauty benefits from the inside out, including boosted blood flow and new collagen and elastin growth.
Pairing PRP with other treatments is perfection!
Sometimes we can help you achieve your best results by applying PRP both topically and with injections. Because PRP is a healing substance by nature, with almost no risk of side effects because it comes from your very own body, we can use it to enhance almost every treatment on our menu! You simply can’t go wrong by boosting your treatments with PRFM.
