I’m not just the owner, I’m a client at AVIE!, and I stand by every treatment we provide. In addition to undergoing a high level of training so we can expertly administer our leading treatments and services, I also make a point of experiencing as many treatments as I can for myself so that I have a thorough understanding of the benefits and side effects. CoolSculpting® non-invasive fat reduction is one such example.
While I love my CoolSculpting results and regularly administer treatments to hundreds of satisfied clients, I realize that some people remain nervous about this treatment. Here’s a look at some of the most frequently asked questions I hear about CoolSculpting, along with some answers.
I’ve heard that CoolSculpting hurts, but I’ve also been told that you can nap during treatment. Which is true?
While CoolSculpting is non-invasive and well tolerated, it may involve some level of discomfort, particularly in the beginning of your session as your skin cools down. Your comfort also depends on the location and size of the treatment area and your personal level of sensitivity. Generally speaking, a large amount of pinchable fat around your belly is more easily and comfortably treated than a smaller pinch of fat under your chin.
Can I actually read the paper during treatment?
This depends on the location of your treatment. For example, if you are treating your chin, the CoolSculpting panel will be fitted under your chin while you are laying back in a chair, rendering reading extremely difficult. If you are treating your muffin top, on the other hand, you will be fully upright and able to read during your session, if you so desire.
Are there any side effects?
It’s not uncommon to experience a tingly, numbing sensation as your targeted area cools in the beginning of your session, as well as numbness following your session. Because CoolSculpting literally freezes your fat cells, you may experience a numbing sensation that will gradually subside in the weeks following treatment. You may also experience some redness at the treatment site, which should quickly fade in the hours after treatment.
Can I get away with one treatment?
This is a tricky question to answer because every body is different, and many patients do see benefits after just one treatment. For your best results, we recommend a series of treatments because CoolSculpting works gradually, targeting about 20 to 25 percent of fat cells at a time. To target the most cells, it can take multiple treatments. Ultimately, it depends on the amount of fat you want to lose to see your desired results.
How long does it take to see results?
Once your fat cells are frozen, they are gradually flushed out by your body in the months following treatment. While some patients see results after a few weeks, it often takes up to 3 months to notice improvement.
Last, but certainly not least, AVIE! is a CoolSculpting Certified practice, which means we’ve received advanced training and have performed well over 2,000 CoolSculpting treatments, offering you the skill and experience needed to achieve your best results.
