How does Ultherapy work?

During treatment, the Ultherapy device sends targeted ultrasound energy deep beneath your skin’s surface to promote collagen and elastin production. Directly treating the superficial musculoaponeurotic system (SMAS), this device focuses on the same tissue layer as plastic surgery. As a result, your features can appear uplifted even without an invasive procedure. The ultrasound energy heats the tissues to about 150 degrees, creating tiny injuries in your facial skin. As your body heals this micro-damage, your collagen and elastin increases, creating smoother skin and giving you a youthful appearance.

How long does Ultherapy treatment take?

Treatment times vary between clients, depending on the treatment area and concern. Typically, a full-face Ultherapy treatment can take up to 2 hours. However, for smaller treatments such as the brows, you may only need 30 minutes in our treatment room. When you visit us for your consultation before Ultherapy in Leesburg, we’ll let you know how long you can expect your treatment to take.

Can Ultherapy results compare to a facelift?

In contrast to a facelift, Ultherapy is an “uplift” procedure. Although Ultherapy cannot replace surgery, it does offer a great alternative if you don’t feel ready for a facelift, and it can help extend the results of cosmetic surgery.

Despite the differences in these treatment approaches, we can actually use them in combination to create more comprehensive rejuvenation. When can I start seeing results from Ultherapy?

While patients may see initial improvements within about a month, significant lifting and toning will occur over 3 to 6 months as your skin produces new collagen. You may see improvements even 12 months after treatment as collagen continues to build.
