Sometimes, without even realizing it, we do things that go against or make it harder for us to achieve our body contouring goals. If you’re working hard to slim down fat or tone your trouble spots, or to lose a certain amount of weight and you can’t seem to make any progress, we want you to know that you’re not alone! So many of us are in exactly the same boat, especially during this pandemic.
We’re here to say, “Don’t give up!” You are not alone, and we are here to help with our clinically-proven fat reduction (CoolSculpting®), muscle toning (EMSCULPT®) and weight loss treatments (PROLON® The Fasting Mimicking Diet).
In the hopes of making your life a little easier, so you can achieve your body contouring goals with gusto, we thought we’d share a few body contouring mistakes to avoid!
Body Contouring Don’ts:
Fearing the weight scale
The weight scale doesn’t have to be your enemy. It can help you stay accountable and fuel your motivation! In one six-month study, people who were overweight or obese who weighed themselves every day consumed fewer calories and lost 6.6% of their body weight, on average, compared to people in the control group who didn’t weigh themselves daily.
Avoiding ALL Fat
Don’t drive yourself batty trying to reduce fat and calories. Certain fats (avocados, nuts and coconuts) are good for you and have been shown to actually aid weight loss efforts! Even though fat has twice as many calories as protein or carbs, it’s also very filling and takes a long time to digest. The other thing to keep in mind is that standard low-fat diets have a poorer track record when it comes to weight loss. This could be because fat-free options tend to be loaded with refined sugar.
Eating every two to three hours
It’s a myth that eating frequent, small meals (as opposed to three meals a day) can help you lose weight by boosting your metabolism. Research has shown that there’s no benefit to eating frequently. In fact, eating frequently may actually cause you to consume more calories than you need!
Eating breakfast, even when you’re not hungry
We’ve all been told that breakfast is the most important meal of the day because it helps jumpstart our metabolism. And for many of us, this idea is hardwired in our brains, causing us to eat something in the morning even when we’re not hungry. Well, if you’re not a breakfast person, you can confidently forgo breakfast without feeling guilty! Studies have shown that whether you eat or skip breakfast, it has little effect on your weight. If anything, skipping results in slightly more weight loss. In one study, people who skipped breakfast ended up eating 144 more calories at lunch. However, their total caloric intake at the end of the day was 408 calories lower. That’s food for thought, right?
The other benefit of skipping breakfast (for those who are not hungry at that time of day) is intermittent fasting, which has been shown to help people lose weight, in addition to providing certain health benefits. For this reason, we offer The ProLon Fasting Mimicking Diet here at AVIE! This diet helps your body lose belly fat rapidly by putting your body into fat-burning mode. This five-day meal plan mimics fasting to help reset your metabolic clock and other cellular functions so your body is renewed and performing at an optimal level. But back to breakfast: We’re not recommending that you skip breakfast. However, if it’s not your favorite time of day to eat, don’t sweat it!
Don’t forget that we are here to help you achieve your body contouring goals! This month, we’re having a body contouring special where you’ll receive 25% OFF four cycles of CoolSculpting. Or, you can buy a series of four EMSCULPT treatments for $1,800 ($1,200 in savings) or buy a series of six EMSCULPT for $2,200 ($2,300 in savings).
